Scorecards

Scoring Reminders

The Club Captain and the Pro Shop would like to remind members who are competing in any of the competitions throughout the week that you must have two signatures on your scorecard for it to be valid.

Warren would also like to point out that if an unsigned card is submitted it cannot be handed back to be signed.

Injured or retiring players during a round are still required to hand in a card labelled "retired, injured" etc. or notify the Pro Shop so that your score can be entered accordingly.

Rule of the Week

Rule of the Week

Many members have been asking what the ruling is for the bird damage that is spread across the greens but especially noticeable on the 16th green.

The ruling is that the player is given "complete relief" including line of putt out of the way of the bird damage, no closer to the hole.  A local rule has been put in place to allow this relief to be taken in accordance with Rule 16.1.d (Abnormal Course Conditions) - Animal Damage.

Medal Results

The February Medal was held last week on the 5th February.  The conditions were tough with both the rain and wind challenging everyone.  Congratulations to the following members on winning the February Medal:

Major & Mixed Pennants Update

Both the Major and Mixed Pennants season kicked off over the past two weeks.

The Major Pennant Team Line-up includes:

  1. Robbie Minns
  2. Michael Bell
  3. Lindsay Hudson
  4. Mitchell Arnold
  5. Matthew Greene
  6. Michael O'Toole  (Captain)
  7. Corey Jaeger
  8. Noah Graham
  9. Lincon McLaren
  10. Daniel Meldrum
  11. James Hislop

It is great to see some of our younger members Noah Graham, Matthew Greene and Robbie Minns featuring in the team for the 2022 season.

The first match didn't go Camden's way with the Major Pennants going down 4 to 3 at home with some very close matches. The team came out even stronger last week and fought back to get a 4 to 3 victory away at Eastlake to get themselves back on track for the season as they continue to fight to move into division 2.  Special mention to Michael Bell who produced a convincing 5 & 3 win away at Eastlake on the weekend.  Major Pennant's next game is at Cabramatta on Sunday and then return to Camden on 20th February at 11am.  We encourage members to come out and support our pennant team as they work towards matching the Master Pennants team from 2021 and winning the Pennant.

The Mixed Pennant Line-up includes:

  1. Bill Bell
  2. Bernadette Johnston
  3. Neale Besgrove
  4. Maria Thorn
  5. Mark Baker
  6. Pam Dilucchio
  7. Duane Johnston
  8. Sue Miller
  9. Ken Dilucchio
  10. Christine Pettitt  (Manager)
  11. Joel Van Der Weegen
  12. Jacinta Maas

The Mixed Pennants team versed Eastlake at home in the first week and won 3.5 to 1.5 which was a fantastic result to start the season.

Unfortunately, last weekend the team lost to Ryde-Parramatta at Ryde-Parramatta 4 to 1 in some truly difficult weather conditions.  Special mention to Duane Johnston and Sue Miller for their convincing win of 5 & 4 at Ryde-Parramatta.  Their next game is at Eastlake this Sunday 13th February and then return to Camden on 20th February at 12pm.

Be sure to come out and support the Mixed Pennants as they continue their season!

Welfare Update

Peter Tanner visited Phil Bevington a couple of weeks ago and is glad to report that Phil is in good spirits and is healthy.  He is well looked after, but is not sure what further treatment he may need in the near future. Phil would like to pass on his best wishes to everyone at the Club.  For anyone who is wanting to visit Phil, he is only allowed one visitor, who must undertake a Rapid Antigen Test on arrival at the nursing home, per day.

For further information please contact Peter Southby.

Superintendent's Report

Justin and his team have been hard at work over the past six weeks working to provide the highest quality golf course with a minimal team as Covid continued to impact staff numbers in all areas of the Golf Club. Last week was the first time since the Christmas Ambrose that the greens staff have had a full team on deck.

Justin and his team have done a fantastic job adapting to the ever changing circumstances that Covid presents and we thank them for providing a top tier golf course week in and week out.

For further information on what the greens staff have been up to please refer to Justin's report.
