Club Championship Report

Congratulations to all members who managed to complete 4 weeks of medal round intensity.
Some sad stories, some funny stories, but also some wonderful results for some individuals.

In the men's Club Championships, all three grades had the scratch winner winning the nett prize as well. I don't think that this has ever happened before.

Club Champion, Lindsay Hudson won in a tight finish. He and Darren Cummins were still even after 69 holes, with Lindsay coming home the strongest over the last few holes.

In B Grade, Stuart Kelly went into the final round with a big lead and despite not having the round he was looking for, still held on and won by three strokes from the fast finishing junior, Nicholas Zelesco.

Sunday 9th December

John Scutts Memorial Trophy - Christmas Event

A reminder to book in early for the Sunday, December 9th event for the John Scutts Memorial Trophy. There is a mixed event, but there is also a men's event, so gentlemen we need your support. A number of tee times are still available, so organise your team and go online to book now.

Higlett/Edwards Final

This Saturday's final of the Higlett/Edwards Match Play pairs event should be a classic.

Shuki Borthwick and Mark Fairweather will be up against the younger pairing of Adrian New and Daniel Grzelak.

So if you are in the morning session, be aware that this match will be the last tee time in the morning, off tee one. Best of luck gentlemen.

Junior Pennants Report

How close can a team go without actually winning their pool. Our Juniors looked likely to progress through to the next stage until the final match in a game between two other clubs went to the final hole. A player 3 putted. This event cost us a place in the finals.

Manager, Bob Zelesco, was disappointed for his boys. They had performed really well throughout the season and are unlucky not to progress further.

Vicki Beaven Match Play Semi Finals

This Saturday also sees the semi final of the Ladies Match Play Championship. Anne Brady will play Maria Thorn in one semi final, while Rebecca Wright will take on Kim de Cean in the other. A spot in next week's final is the reward for the winners. Both matches will be closely fought, with handicap playing an important role.

In the WGN District Open Foursomes 2018 at Campbelltown on Tuesday 30th October, Mindy Ross and Wanda Kozinski won the scratch with a score of 84.

Well done ladies!

Welfare Officer's Report

Golfing member Colin Hargraves took ill playing in Thursday's Comp. After consulting with his doctor Colin was rushed to hospital. The Club wishes Colin a speedy recovery and hopes that he will be back playing soon.
It is with deep regret that we advise of the passing of well-known golfing member Geoffrey Todhunter. Geoffrey's funeral was held last Wednesday 7th November and was well attended by family and friends.
