After almost six years of informing our golfing members about happenings on and around Camden Golf Course, I am handing this role over to a fresh, young and capable Club member who I have no doubt will continue to deliver interesting and important information to our membership.

Jared Harvey will not only commence his golfing traineeship with Stuart Meani this year, but he will also deliver the golfing newsletter every fortnight. Much of the information is generated by the Captain Gary Hunt, Women's Captain Anne Brady, Superintendent Justin Bradbury, Club Professional Stuart Meani and President Andrew Moyle, but Jared will edit and collate.

Great news last week, with Robbie winning qualification for the NSW Open to be played at Concord Golf Club on March 17-20. He, and many others, played in a two day qualifying event at Shell Cove Golf Club on the 16th and 17th January. Robbie shot a wonderful round of 5 under par on day one to be an equal leader going into the second day. Unfortunately, the weather conditions were so poor on day two that play was halted when Robbie had played only 3 holes.

With only one entry to the NSW Open available (to the winner of the event), Robbie was announced as the winner on a count back. This is a Professional event, with very few places available for amateur qualification, so Robbie has done exceptionally well. Great for Camden Golf Club.

The first PGA Associate match of 2022 for Cameron Banks and Jared Harvey was last Monday at Campbelltown Golf Club , Cameron shot a fantastic score of 5 under par to win the event by 1 shot. The next Associate Match is being held at Glenmore Heritage Golf Club on Monday 24th but only Cameron will be competing as Jared continues to isolate with Covid.

Both teams start their campaigns this Sunday at home.

• Mixed Pennants tee off at 12pm
