  • November Medal is this Saturday 30/10 - also the second qualifying round for the 2022 Men's Club Match Play (all grades).  If you wish to qualify for the Match Play, please mark your card this week with a (Y).
  • Green renovations will take place on Monday and Tuesday (8th and 9th November), so the course will be closed on these days.  It is also usual that the boys get a head start on Sunday afternoon, so don't plan a late hit on the 7th November - the first tee will close from 2pm.
  • The Men's Masters Pennant team will play their semi final this Sunday, 31st October at Roseville Golf Club.  After winning our group stage, a victory in this match against Woolooware will give the Club a promotion to Division 2 next year and also a place in the final next week.  Managers, Bobby Zelesco and Noel Beattie, have been waiting since June to get this game done - so best of luck to the team.  Team Members - Darren Cummins, David Jansen, Chris Zanoni, Gary Hunt, Robert Bolton, Duncan Skinner, Noel Wood, Neville Hoskin, Peter Nonnenmacher, Bill Bell and Greg Matheson.
  • Just a reminder to members regarding a lost ball, or a ball found to be OOB.  The Club has adopted the time saving strategy introduced by Golf Australia last year.  If, after a three minute search or a ball is discovered to be OOB, the player may drop a ball on the edge of the fairway close to the agreed position of the 'lost ball' under penalty of two shots.  (If lost off the tee, the player would now be playing 4).  Of course, a player may take the option to play a provisional ball initially if they suspect a ball could be lost or OOB.
  • Well done to Trish Gleeson on her win in the Monday Comp last week.  We haven't had many winners playing off the red markers, so well done.

Val Jameson

Val Jameson

We lost a real Camden Golf Club gem last week.  Val had been a member at our Club for over 40 years.  She was a very good golfer, particularly in her prime, having won a Women's Foursomes Championship and countless Medals.   She is also one of only three players in the Club's history to score an albatross (a 2 on the Par 5 14th hole), as well as a few 'Holes in One'.  Despite her ill health, she payed a regular 9 holes over the past few months to 'keep her eye in' in preparation for a return to competition.  Val loved playing golf.  We will miss her dry sense of humour and her support and love for Camden Golf Club.

Wednesday Medal of Medals Winner Maria Thorn - 80 Nett.
