Booking In Postponed

Booking In

A reminder that the booking in process this Thursday has been postponed due to some technical issues.  Also there may be some good news from the government and Golf NSW regarding possible relaxation of the current arrangements for group sizes.  With this in mind, a delay in booking process for Saturday, 23rd May is the best option.  More information will follow.

Scorecard Marking

Marking Cards

Even though you are marking your own card, all players should also be recording the scores of their playing partner on their card.  At the end of each hole there should be a verbal confirmation of the score, whilst at the end of the round there needs to be confirmation of the final score for your playing partner.  When you sign your card at the end of the round, your playing partner's name should be printed (by you) under your signature.

Driving Range

With the large number of members accessing this facility in recent times, here are some common sense practice tips:

  • Mark your balls in some way so as to ensure you are getting your own balls during collection.
  • Do not hit your balls back toward the tee area - this may cause injury to members or cars.
  • Try to plan to collect balls at the same time as other members practicing - this will avoid the potential for collectors being struck by balls (collecting while people are still hitting is not a good idea).
  • Justin Bradbury made some good recommendations on how to practice regarding divots in last week's edition.  Straight line divots are a better pattern than random divots for ground recovery.

Mitchell Arnold

Outstanding Scores

Mitch Arnold hit form in a big, big way in the Monday Comp last week.  6 Under Par off the stick - 44 points playing off a handicap of 2; 7 birdies and a bogey on the 17th (the 17th must have hurt).

Well done Mitch!

Anzac Day Flyover

Anzac Day Flyover

What a fantastic experience to watch the flyover by a number of vintage planes on Anzac Day.  For my group (of 2), we witnessed proceedings from the 5th tee, where the planes seemed to be in perfect 'Southern Cross' formation.

Justin Bradbury

A Reminder from Justin Bradbury

Cart Users Please Note:  The blue lines that are marked around greens are an indication of where carts should not cross.  There are also notices in the windshields indicating a 10m distance from greens be used as a guide in the absence of blue lines or faded lines.  Also carts should not be driven between bunkers and greens anywhere or at any time.  We have these measures in place to reduce wear and tear around greens and they should be respected barring any unforeseen situation or circumstance.

Also, a reminder about repairing pitch marks on greens.  This is a continuing issue.

Gary Hunt

A Message from the Captain

  • The Halfway Bar will be open until the last '18 hole group' go through the 9th hole - it will then close for the day.
  • All members are reminded that after your golf game has concluded, you must not remain on the premises.  This will remain the case until the government relaxes the rules regarding social distancing.
  • The Camden Cup this year will be postponed until groups of 4 are allowed on the course.  We will make a call on how and when the event occurs at a later stage.
  • Names for Warren and Gibson Trophies - Sheets will be put up in the Pro Shop for B and C graders.  Also a manager for each grade is required.  The draw has yet to be finalised and of course will be subject to COVID 19 changes.  For those interested, the following may be important:

Schedule for this Competition:

Round 1 - 26th July

Round 2 - 2nd August

Round 3 - 9th August

Round 4 - 16th August

Round 5 - 23rd August

Round 6 - 30th August

Elimination Finals - 6th September

Quarter Finals - 13th September

Semi Finals - 20th September

Final - 27th September

  • Unfortunately, there will be NO Masters Pennants this year, due to the circumstances we are currently in.  This event was due to commence in two weeks.  Many thanks to those players who had nominated to represent our Club.
  • A reminder to all members that our game is self governing and that's what makes it such a great game.  Please be careful to follow the rules of golf.
  • Recently we seem to have improved speed of play a little - but we still have room for further improvement.
