You're Invited

A Special Invitation

As most members would be aware, our Course Superintendent, Justin Bradbury, spent a few weeks in the USA recently, including the week of the US Open Golf Championships.  During his time away, he visited a number of great golf courses and had discussions with Superintendents about course development and care.

At the Board of Directors Meeting last month, Justin gave a presentation and report about his trip.  He had some wonderful photographs and stories about his visit including, of course, a fantastic visual of his time at the famous Pebble Beach Golf Course.

Justin has kindly volunteered to present a report on his visit to all members.  If you are a golf 'tragic' or just an enthusiast, you will enjoy this.

Justin will deliver this presentation on Tuesday, 30th July commencing at 7pm and will take approximately 45 minutes.

Following Justin, we will have a second presenter in a question/ answer session on golf rules.  Andrew Robb is responsible for Rules, Handicapping and Course Rating with Golf NSW.  He is a scratch (plus) golfer himself and will be able to answer all questions relating to the rules of golf.  Gary Hunt and I have given him some initial questions to address, but he will then be able to take questions from 'the floor'.

This is a great opportunity to listen to two very knowledgeable professionals.

Please join us from 7pm in the function room.  Put it in the 'must do' section of your calendar.

Tea and coffee available.

Cosgrove Whear Final Report

Pictured - Ian Stoddart (L) and Bill Bell (R) on the first tee.

Windy conditions greeted the boys for the final of this prestigious event - in fact it was so windy they needed to hold each other for this photo opportunity to prevent being blown into the car park.

Bill went on to win the match 4 and 3.  After losing the final last year, Bill went out with a positive attitude and in the end won well.  Ian did a fantastic job in making the final and will again be 'one to watch' in next year's handicap Match Play.

Foursomes

Best of luck to those participating this weekend in the Mixed Foursomes Championships.  To be played on Saturday and Sunday, we hope all players have a pleasurable experience.

Thursday night is book in for the Women's and Men's Foursomes Championships, to be played over two consecutive Saturdays.  For those not playing Foursomes, a stableford event is on for both weeks.

Warren and Gibson Trophy

The B and C Grade Men's Pennant season commences next Sunday, 28th July.  Our teams are primed for a big season.  James Blaker, one of our team managers, has assured me that the trophy is as good as ours.
