Ladies Mid-Week Results

Two very close semi final matches in the Dunlop/Harding pairs match play event.  Annette Wilson and Wanda Kozinski won 3 and 2 over Sue Marsh and Mindy Ross in one semi, while Patricia Morrison and Shelley Chapman won with the same score against Kerry Cahill and Patricia Gleeson.

Best of luck to each pairing in the final!

Fog

Thank you to the players who understood the difficult situation that Stuart Meani was placed in last Saturday morning.  Over the past 30 years of my involvement with Saturday morning golf, I would estimate only a handful of occasions that fog has caused a major delay in play.  Unfortunately last Saturday was the worst case I can recall.

Our constitution and safe play policy left Stu with no options regarding how to deal with this weather event and his decisions were as per our policies.  It was always going to result in some players missing a game.  By the time it was safe to play, 72 players were without a tee time.  We apologise for the fact that players didnÃ?¢??t get to play a Medal round, but player safety was the priority.

The Autumn Cup has been transferred to the May medal round in two weeks.

US Masters Golf Event

Masters Breakfast

All players, who are not working on Monday, or who can get the morning off, are invited to play in our regular US Masters event this Monday, 15th April.

Watch the final holes of the Masters, of course hoping for an Aussie to be up there with a chance of winning the Green Jacket, whilst enjoying breakfast and coffee in the Club, followed by an 18 hole golf event at Camden Augusta National;  finishing up with a delicious lunch and presentation.

Members $50 | Visitors $60.

Bookings essential phone 4646 2387.

Camden Cup - 18th May 2019

This is our premier men's event for the year.  The event is a Vardon Event, which means that many top players from our district and further afield will nominate to play.  The event is for A Grade Camden members and visitors with a handicap of 7 or less.  Closing date for entries will be Monday, 13th May.  Our major sponsors for the day have donated significant prizes.

A big thank you to Peter Nonnenmacher  (Hillross) and Andrew Moyle (TLD Logistics) in advance.

Macarthur Challenge

Best of luck to our team representing Camden Golf Club this Sunday in the Macarthur Challenge.  This event involves the four clubs in our district- Lakeside, Antill Park, Campbelltown and Camden.  Each club is represented by a mixed team covering different categories from their club championships from 2018.  The categories and our representatives are:

  • Women's Champion (Kendell Hunt)
  •  A Grade Men's (Lindsay Hudson)
  • B Grade Men's ( Stuart Kelly)
  • C Grade Men's (David Newham)
  • Junior male (Declan Hobbs)
  • Senior Men (Chris Zanoni)
The scoring system creates a champion club based on the performance of the team.  We wish our players all the best.

Some Reminders

  • Players who use carts and scooters please note.  We have a 10 metre 'no go zone' for these vehicles in relation to our greens.  In recent weeks we have had cases of members not only ignoring this request, but driving and parking on the green fringe.  Please follow the directions as per our expectations.
  • Life as a Superintendent of Greens:  This image was sent to me by Justin Bradbury last week.  Someone has clearly hit a few shots from the 17th fringe toward the 2nd green.  Just to make life difficult.  If you see anyone on our course doing such things, please let us know.
